Procter & Gamble Applies For Patent For High-Tech Toothpick

March 17, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
Procter & Gamble Co. filed a patent application for an oral care applicator designed to clean teeth, remove stains, and freshen breath. Invented by Jayanth Rajaiah and Connie Marie Roetker, the device resembles a toothpick and is designed to dispense a flavored formula, likely to include fluoride to prevent cavities. Likely to be marketed under the company’s Oral-B and Crest brands, the device will help consumers lessen the need to use floss, mouthwash, gum, or mints between brushings.
